Check which pool applies to you. If you filed Form N-400 on or after October 20, 2025, you are tested from this 128-question list — up to 20 asked, 12 correct to pass. If you filed before that date, you are tested from the older 100-question list — up to 10 asked, 6 correct to pass. Confirm your filing date before you start studying.

Spanish here is study support only. Unless you qualify for an age-and-residence exception (50/20, 55/15 or 65/20), the naturalization interview and civics test are conducted in English.

Studying is the easy part.

The civics questions are memorizable. Eligibility is where naturalization cases actually turn — continuous residence, physical presence, good moral character, prior arrests, tax filings, selective service, and anything on your record from before you became a resident. If any of that applies to you, have an attorney look at the file before you file.
